He’ll always have Brocktober. And a Super Bowl ring. And $60 million (AUD).

So yeah, despite retiring at age 28 with just 15 wins to his name and the infamy of failing to live up to one of the most head-scratching contracts in NFL history, Brock Osweiler is going to be OK.

“I have my health. I have the ring. There’s a lot of things I still wanted to accomplish. And I have a lot more left in the tank. But, hey, sometimes you don’t get that opportunity. And given that, it’s all good,” he told 9News in America, after calling an end to his seven-year career.

Osweiler will go down as one of the biggest busts the league has seen after he followed a memorable 2015 season in which he kept the Broncos in playoff position before ceding the position for the Super Bow run to Peyton Manning by signing a partially-guaranteed $95 million deal with the Houston Texans.

Osweiler lasted just one season in Houston after clashing with coach Bill O’Brien and suffered the embarrassment of seeing the Texans give the Cleveland Browns a second-round draft pick just to take him off their hands.

The Browns had no plans to keep him and he landed back in Denver where he was paid by Cleveland.

Osweiler failed to recreate his earlier magic and signed with Miami last season, where he gave fans false hope during what became known as Brocktober when he threw for a career-high 380 yards in an upset of Chicago before normal service resumed.

He failed to land a job as a free agent anywhere this season and has decided to pull the pin.

“That 2015 season is something that is very special,’’ Osweiler told 9News. “The coaches, the players, they mean the world to me. I was thankful to have had the opportunity to play the role I did, but that was the ultimate team deal. There was a ton of talent on that football team, but I would say we were the closest of all teams in the National Football League. Our culture was beyond anything that can ever be created. It was so genuine, so real that I think any coach or player on that team would have done anything for anybody in that building that year.”
